Juliana aka D&E
Juliana jewelry can be explained in one simple word- gaudy. Big, bold and colorful stones. No other word can explain the unique combinations of stones set upon the links of Juliana construction. A few fortunate collectors found jewelry with Juliana hang tag on it, in never-worn condition, and now collectors can put a possible name with a definite style.
Now for the stones. All types of beautiful and unusual rhinestones were used, and all shapes of stones. Art glass, carved stones, stones that look like opals, rivoli stones and watermelon stones. Even cameos. And most are large stones, surrounded by slightly smaller stones, accented by slightly smaller stones.
And the colors, well, the colors spark. Yes, some have pale colors, but most are bold. And some of the pale ones are accented with bold sparkled stones, in colors you dreamed could be worn together, but were too shy to try.
Because Juliana is unsigned, it was mostly overlooked, except by collectors who disregard marks and buy the jewelry by its appearance, manufacture and beauty.
