Naga Jewelry Ethnic Tribal Vintage
The Naga people of Northeast India and Northwest Burma are a conglomeration of different tribes, united under the “Naga”. The jewelry and beadwork for which they are known have been considered by some scholars to be the “most beautiful, elaborate ornamentations of any tribal culture”, I have to agree with that statement!
Another fascinating element about the Naga Jewelry is the fact that their ornamentations are not mere decoration – they’re a part of the wearer’s identity and that of the tribe to which the wearer belongs.
A rich and bold necklace inspired this post. It is definitely one of my top faves of all times. You can find it here: https://www.etsy.com/your/shops/talkingfashionnet/tools/listings/query:naga/184052638
Are you familiar with Naga Jewelry? What do you think of its style? We would love to hear from you and, in case you are already a Naga collector, we would love to see what you got!! Cant ever get tired of looking beautiful pieces of jewelry, specially ethnic ones from the Naga Tribe....Oh my.....
Be Fearless. Be Bold. Be Brave. Wear what you love everyday.
See you next time.

Quirk? Fancy? Eccentric? novelty jewelry
Its Halloween, Its Halloween...I can't stop my brain from repeating this song my kids were dancing to...OMG! Good thing I love them and I do love Halloween :)
When I say I love Halloween, I mean not only the uncannily striking or surprising portion of it, nor the elaborate party decors (which I praise); but all the garments and all so many amazing "real" witches and their history and stories.
Anyhow, here I want to give a shout to Annette who just created a treasury about Halloween: https://www.etsy.com/treasury/NDkzNDY2MjB8Mjg2NTA2NzY5NQ/halloween
Although I rather wear things out of context than the other way around, I value all pensive styles. I love our featured witch earrings. You can see it here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/165288006/witch-figural-novel-approach-halloween
Do you think its Quirk? Fancy? Eccentric? Or rather cheesy? I am interested on hearing your thoughts on novelty jewelry, in and out of context. What do you think?
Relax! Play! Amuse!

Want it? Get it!
Some of you already know that I have been selling on different marketplaces for over a decade. One of these online markets, has this great "treasury" feature which promote their merchants. I always loved the concept, mainly because it pushes for so much creativity. I love to see the different angles of how people put things together.
Our shop has been featured in multiple treasuries hundreds of times throughout the past 6 years there, and it has always been fun to watch.
Just recently, I got a notice that was not related to a treasury posting but instead, a polyvore collection feature curated by "La Baronne Vintage". Here is the collection: http://www.polyvore.com/early_autumn_70s_look/set?id=208580883
Polyvore? How on Earth I wasn't hip to this yet? OMG what a blast it is to use their site. Great tool for styling and creating visual impact. Thanks to Nathalie, I got introduced and I am in love! Anyhow...
Find your style each day! Play around, create, have fun with fashion! Here is the link to a collection I am just starting to work on there: http://www.polyvore.com/out_door_with_some_golden/collection?id=5933272

Dorian Designs Necklace Vintage Handmade Novelty Jewelry
Among many other things, I collect clown figural stuff... from dolls and pictures all way to jewelry.. That is how I discovered Dorian Designs Jewelry.
From what I have observed online they are just starting to become a valuable collectible item, and prices are raising. They use to cost like $20 and now you can run into some priced at $100. The real old vintage original pieces from the 80s are obviously harder to find and therefore priced higher.
They are not (yet) priced as the more famous jewelry maker such as Flying Colors, Ruby Z and Parrot Pearls. Granted these brands all use ceramic as medium; instead of wood like Dorian Designs; nonetheless they all show great craftsmanship.
As someone who loves wearing whimsical novelty jewelry, I collect and wear them all.
Anyhow, a former boutique owner recently approached me to re-sell her old inventory. OMG I was so excited to receive this package on the mail and what a blast was to unpack all these cuties, all original pieces from the 80s new never used. Some of the design styles I have never seen before, some I did (but not in NOS perfect condition).
These treasures are now up for sale in the shop. They are all super pretty on every detail and very fun to wear! Check them all out here: https://talkingfashion.myshopify.com/collections/dorian-designs
Have fun shopping :)
