You have a project.
We have the studio.
Saturday or Sunday Open Studio is up to three hours of uninterrupted sewing time in a fully equipped fashion studio. No curriculum. No instructions. No hand-holding. You come in, set up, and make. This is your time to work on your project, at your pace, with professional machines and tools at your fingertips.
Our instructor is on-site the entire session — not to teach you, but to help if you hit a snag with a machine or a technique. The difference matters: this is a studio session, not a class.
If you can set up a machine, thread it, and work through your project on your own — you belong here.
If you're still learning the basics or need regular guidance throughout, we'd love to have you in one of our group or private classes instead — where an instructor is fully available for you from start to finish.
Fully independent sewers ages 10 and up. You don't need to be advanced — you need to be self-directed. If you've sewn alone before and want dedicated time to make something independently, this seat is yours.
- Access to our professional machines — Juki, Bernina, Singer, Brother, and more
- Basic sewing studio supplies: thread, needles, pins, rulers, markers, scissors, cutting mats, and more
- A curated selection of clean pre-loved garments for upcycling projects (limited — availability not guaranteed; bring your own if you have something specific in mind)
- Fabric scraps for upcycled creations (selection varies)
- Instructor on-site for machine troubleshooting
Bring your WIP, your pattern, your fabric. Our free materials are a bonus, not a guarantee.

You're not just making something. You're part of what makes this possible.Open Studio runs on a rotating weekend basis through December as we settle into the Dear Garment House, participate in two fashion shows including Columbus Fashion Week, and host a few special events before year's end. Come January, we plan to go weekly — and stay that way.
